Basic Types of Certificates of Goods Origin
Pursuant to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the Chambers of Commerce and Industry” adopted in July 2003, from October 23, 2009 the territorial Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan have an authority to execute, certify and issue the Certificate of Goods Origin.
There are three basic types of Certificates of Goods Origin:
- The Certificate of Goods Origin in СТ-1- format is issued for the goods exported from the Republic of Kazakhstan to the states - parties to the Agreement on Establishment of Free Trade Zone (CIS countries): Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. The Certificate of Goods Origin in СТ-1 format grants to an importer full exemption from duties.
- The Certificate of Goods Origin in А format is issued for the goods exported to the European Community countries and USA, Canada, Japan, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Norway within the Generalized System of Preferences. Upon availability of Certificate of Origin, an importer is fully or in part exempt of duty.
- The Certificate of Goods Origin in general format is issued for the Kazakhstani goods exported to all countries except the CIS countries unless a Certificate of Goods Origin of A format or other special certificates are required. The above certificates shall be executed in English or Russian.
The Certificate of Goods Origin is drawn up on a special, secure form of А4 (210 x 297 mm) format fabricated typographically with different security features and certified by authorized persons of Territorial Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the norms of domestic and international laws.
The Certificate of Goods Origin is issued only for the Kazakhstani goods exported to other countries.
